Classes will include asanas to help with posture & core strength, as well as calming restorative time. A yoga class designed specifically for tweens & teens. As well as using yoga to improve strength, flexibility and concentration, this class incorporates more physically challenging postures and flowing sequences, as well as breathing exercises and visualization techniques. Positive self-awareness and esteem are encouraged. Class is 1 hour.
A yoga class for the whole family. Classes taught each week based on participants, but there is always something for every age group. Music, games, & fun for all. Group & Partner Poses are emphasized. Class is 45 minutes.
Story Time Yoga for toddlers is a free class offered at public libraries. We will bring our stories to life with yoga poses & puppets, learning some new songs along the way. Class is 45 minutes, and registration is handled through the individual libraries. Please check the calendar tab for detailed information.
This special parent & child class, developed for the Edgewater Public Library, uses children's yoga & guided meditation to help you & your child slow down at the end of the day. This class will teach children how to connect to their breath with age appropriate breathing exercises and introduce meditation and calming techniques in a child-friendly & fun way. We will include some of the silliness & joyful expression of children's yoga as well as learning which poses are the most restful & relaxing and why. Parents participation required, as this class includes Parent-Child partner poses. Yoga is an excellent way to bond with your children, as well as find some peace yourself.
Vinyasa Classes focus on flowing from pose to pose, and linking the movement with breath. Learn and refine the foundational poses of the Vinyasa Yoga practice including sun salutations (or Surya Namaskar), core isolation & strengthening, standing poses, balancing postures, backbends and seated and reclining poses. These classes are used to build endurance, stamina, strength, and flexibility, while calming the mind.
